Microneedling Technology penetrates the skin on your face, neck, or décolletage, this treatment will provide your skin with many health benefits. At the ZO Skin Centre®, our microneedling treatment consists of a multi-needled device to rapidly puncture tiny holes into your skin. This will not cause harm to your face. In fact, it will do the opposite. The holes made by the device will stimulate your skin to repair itself and will lead to a new layer of healthy skin.
As an added benefit, we can apply your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to your face after the microneedling treatment (while the skin is still open). In the days following the treatment, you will see a reduction in the appearance of your acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, large pores, and more. What to Expect
In a private treatment room, we will draw your blood for the PRP collection to take place while you receive your microneedling session. One of our medical staff will take the vial of blood to our lab so that it can begin the separation process in a centrifuge. Your harvested cells, platelets, and growth factors will then be condensed into a platelet-rich plasma. Meanwhile, you will be relaxing in the treatment chair having your microneedling treatment on your skin. The microneedling device (a state-of-the-art, handheld technology) will produce minuscule holes in your skin, which opens it up just enough to start the cell regeneration process. Starting at your forehead and working all the way around your face, we will glide it across your skin in a back and forth motion. The tiny needles will not damage your skin. It will brilliantly bolster your ability to produce skin-firming collagen. Once the PRP is ready, it will be applied to your face. You can expect to see some bruising, swelling, and redness to your skin after the treatment as this is a normal reaction. It may take several weeks for you to see the end result. Your skin will need time to repair itself and heal.
